Ploshcha 2010 Infographics
To add our word to the ongoing discussions about the number of people, who participated in the demonstrations in Miensk on December 19, we did some simple calculations, which should make the scene a bit clearer.
We draw our infographics taking into account data on the number of protesters from three different sources (police report, independent online news site Gazetaby.com and Russian private TV channel REN TV) and sizes of Kastrychnitskaya and Nezalezhnastsi squares. For optimists we took density of 3 people per one square meter and for pessimists we offer density of one person per one square meter. Looking at our graphs, you can decide for yourself, how many people came to claim free and fair elections on Miensk’s largest squares that December night.
