For your consideration we direct your attention to a new album by one of Belarus’ most controversial bands, “RockerJoker”.

In order to reach the real underground, sometimes you need to do something outstanding, which ain’t easy. This is what happened to “RockerJoker”. After their seemingly pro-presidential song “Sania Will Remain With Us” caused a huge scandal during the 2010 election campaign, the musicians dropped out of sight, did some deep thinking, and recorded their most complicated album yet.
Their second release is supposed to be their last. The album describes the band’s views on what is happening to our planet and its different places. Today we present it for God’s approval and yours.

– I think everything that is happening changes on the surface, but at the core remains the same. Never ending conflicts, crises, the unification and fragmentation of countries, information wars, technical progress, economic problems, political intrigues... We saw all of this in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and now it continues into this decade. It’s getting more and more complicated to find among all of this some islands of moral and spiritual support. But it’s necessary to do so. Kindness and happiness should at least balance this negative vibe that we have all around us.

We live in a world that is as cruel as it is wonderful, we try to improve it and make it better. We do our best, but we forget that we should start with ourselves. And we fail. Then we try even harder to make our reality better, and … it is something like a planet full of earthquakes, floods, droughts and tsunamis ….

The planet is infected by us, the people. And if God exists, I would advise him to sell this planet.

– I guess I have lower self-esteem. For example, I’m not a tall handsome prince with a passionate heart, excellent health and a dazzling smile. On the other hand, I’m not a blind or deaf dwarf, an exhibitionist or necrophiliac with a wooden leg. Everybody who surrounds me is viewed through a specific filter of my “I” and turns into either a monster or an angel.

But sometimes, at a moment of magnificent calmness, I feel our planet breathing, its tender whisper. And each time when a new song emerges, or is unearthed, it makes me smile and, like a mirror, restores what is left of my previous smiles.

It’s not a secret for me that inside of each monster there is a small furry kitten, and each kitten has sharp teeth and claws. I’m not ashamed of crying, and I’m not afraid of growling.
